I decided that my 4×5 Bee Blocks would be a great project to tackle on the road at my Grandma’s house this past week. I picked a block out of her old school, very well used, block book
I made my first patchwork out of this book with my grandma about 18 years ago, when I was about 7. #110 Tic Tac Toe, also well used, as you can see
For the 4×5 I chose the Starry Path Block, which despite being in this book of “traditional” blocks, looked very cool and modern to me.

Blocks for Hive 8
I like them so much, I think I might do a variation of these for my next quarter of the 3×6 Bee too, though I’ve also really wanted to do some Lady of the Lake Blocks, so we’ll have to see.
UPDATE: There’s been a lot of interest in this block. I used templates for a 12 block from the book above, but you can also get a pattern online for an 8″ Block from Quilter’s Cache here.
